By using the Crayon iOS app ("Crayon", "we", "us"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Crayon. If you're under the age of majority where you live, your parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.

Your account + your partner

• Crayon pairs two people into a "couple". Both must consent to pair, and both must consent to unpair (with a 3-day fallback if one stops responding — see "Force-end" below).
• You're responsible for what you send. Don't send anything illegal, harassing, or that you don't have the right to send.
• If your partner unpairs from you, you'll see it in the app and on your widget. You can pair fresh with a new partner from the home screen.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Crayon on iOS devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes. You don't get any rights to our code, design, or trademarks beyond using the app as intended.

Acceptable use

• Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Crayon's source code.
• Don't use Crayon to harass, stalk, threaten, or harm anyone.
• Don't try to bypass pairing, billing, or trial enforcement.
• Don't impersonate another person.
• Don't use the app to send unlawful, infringing, or sexually explicit content involving minors. Reports go to the relevant authorities.

Subscriptions + free trial

• Crayon offers an introductory free trial (15 days by default) and a paid subscription afterwards. Trial length is once-per-user-lifetime — uninstalling, unpairing, or re-pairing does not grant a fresh trial.
• Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Apple's standard EULA applies to the App Store transaction itself.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage renewal in Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Refunds. All refund requests are handled by Apple per their refund policy. We can't issue refunds directly.
• Either partner can be the payer. If one of you subscribes, the box is unlocked for both. The non-payer can't manage billing on their device.

Unpair + force-end

• You can request unpair from Settings any time. Both partners must confirm before any data is erased.
• Once both confirm, every message, drawing, mood, and shared encryption key on both phones AND on our servers is permanently erased. There is no recovery.
• If your partner doesn't confirm within 3 days, you can force-end the pair from your side. Your partner's view is also cleared.

Privacy

Our collection and use of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Crayon, you also agree to that policy.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Crayon if you breach these terms or use the app to harm someone. You may stop using Crayon any time by uninstalling. To delete your account and all backend data, email tech.noobqa@gmail.com with your support code.

Disclaimers

Crayon is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that messages will always deliver — they depend on Apple's APNs network, your internet, and your partner's device being reachable.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crayon's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of Bengaluru, India, unless you're a consumer in a jurisdiction whose laws give you a different right.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "effective" date reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated in-app before they take effect; continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
